The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has berated the All Progressives Congress in the state for describing Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s administration as a government of propaganda.
The APC chairman, Mr. Isaac Kekemeke, had in an interview with Saturday Punch alleged that the present administration in the state, performed below expectation since inception, saying it only embarked on propaganda to polish its “fanciful and ephemeral projects across the state”.
However, the PDP in a statement by its Director of Publicity, Mr. Ayo Fadaka, on Sunday, said it was the APC at the national level that is ruling with deceit.
Fadaka added that the APC chairman was only trying to sell his party to the people but noted that Kekemeke was economical with the truth in his comments about Mimiko’s performance and achievements in the state
The statement read, “Though we understand the fact that the Ondo State government’s continuing stride in spite of the economic recession currently being witnessed in the nation, as it continues to construct roads like the Isolo and Odokoyi roads in Akure and other parts of the state, the building of a modern abattoir equipped with essential equipments that compares with any of its kind in the Western world and the continuing relevance of the PDP in Ondo State should be giving Kekemeke and his party nightmares, it should not have driven the APC to this level of bitterness.
“We advise them to give attention to the ineptitude that have so far characterised the Buhari presidency that has yet to really take off almost 100 days after inauguration and do the needful to eschew the seeming incompetence and absolute lack of initiative that currently permeates governance at the federal level rather than to continue to chase shadows here.”
